The Perfect Cup of Coffee
Start with the best quality, fresh coffee beans — Gabby Goodies, of course! For the freshest cup, buy coffee frequently — monthly if possible.

Store it carefully — at room temperature, out of direct sunlight. (Use our Vacuum Coffee/Tea Saver.) Watch your water. Your brewed coffee is 98.5% water, so choose it well. Start with fresh, cold bottled or filtered water.

Grind beans at home. Coffee tastes its best when ground just before brewing. Make sure your grinder is clean. (Use our Coffee Grinder Brush.)

Use the correct grind. Each brewing method requires its own grind — for a drip pot, grind 15 to 20 seconds. Grind less time (coarser) for a French Coffee Press.

Measure carefully. We recommend using one heaping tablespoon for each six ounces of water. (Take the guesswork out with our Percolator Coffee Scoop.)

Serve it right away — and turn off the heat. Immediately after brewing, either serve or pour coffee into a thermal carafe. Ten or fifteen minutes of sitting on a warmer can taint your coffee with a burnt taste.


Brewing the Perfect Cup of Tea
Over time, you can adjust these directions to suit your own tastes. Preparing tea properly is not hard, but timing and temperature are crucial! Enjoy!

Begin by using one teaspoon (The Perfect Tea Measure Spoon of course) per 8 oz. of water.

Traditional Black Tea: (Earl Grey House, Empire Keenum, Welsh Morning, Gabby Gold, Prairie Passion) Pour boiling water over leaves and brew for 4-5 minutes.

Oolong Tea: (Formosa Choicest) Pour slightly less than boiling water over leaves and brew for 3-7 minutes.

Green Tea: (China Moon, Clouds & Mist, Green Cherry, Green Mango) Pour considerably less than boiling water (165-185 degrees) over leaves and brew for 2-3 minutes.

Herbal Tea: (Peppermint, Rooibos) Pour water that is slightly boiling over leaves and brew for 5-7 minutes.
